About
What’s with the site ?
Shashin.dk is my personal blog I use for displaying pictures I’ve taken and rant about what I’m doing when it’s somehow related to photography or just feel the need to share it with the world.
Why the name shashin?
Shashin means photograph in Japanese and since I’m into Japanese subcultures (anime, manga, cosplay and so on) I thought it would be a fitting name for a site like this.
Who’s behind the site?
The name is Morten. I live in Copenhagen, Denmark and in my daily life I study chemistry at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) and work spare time at a pharmaceutical company. When not busy with my studies or work I use my spare time reading books, organizing anime conventions and taking pictures, mainly of (how surprising) cosplayers.
Are you any good?
I’ve only been “seriously” into photography since 2008 so I’d call myself a beginner or amateur photographer at best since it’s not my way of living but just a hobby and I think that one can always get better at what they’re doing, but seeing as the nations largest media network asked my to participate in a radio interview as a cosplay photographer and chose to use my pictures on their website in connection with the interview I must be doing something right. Other than that my photos are used in a Danish cosplay magazine called CosMag and some of them also find their way to my dA profile and cosplay.com profile.
How can you be contacted?
If you for some reason want to contact me, you can throw an email to photo@shashin.dk and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can.
Can I use some of your photos?
Sure, as long as you obey the copyright license. If you do use some of my photos, please make it clear where ever you use them, that they are taken from this website and specify a link to shashin.dk
Any last commets?
A thanks to the people who have given me input about my website or my skills as a photographer and of course a huge thanks to the cosplayers that have taken their time posing for me so I could take the photos in the first place.
